Jesse offers strong teaching skills, coupled with years of experience in big bands, jazz combos, pit orchestras, and top 40 bands.  His philosophy is that teaching music rudiments on sax, clarinet, flute and guitar to beginners produces students who are successful in orchestra and band.

Jesse Meman (saxophones, flute, clarinet, guitar) has been a part of the Washington/Baltimore music community for well over 25 years. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College of Southern Maryland in 1981 where he studied saxophone and flute, and post-graduate classes in music education from George Mason University. Jesse has participated in numerous Master Classes with internationally known artists such as Cab Calloway, Cat Anderson, Muhall Richard Abrams and others. He has performed with a variety of ensembles throughout his musical career. He has been featured soloist with jazz combos, pit orchestra for theatrical productions, Top-40, Latin and Big Bands. He has lent his composition and arranging skills to several groups and his charts have been featured on recordings. Throughout his musical career, Jesse Meman has combined his experience, education and love of teaching. He works with students of all ages, focusing on nurturing their skills and interests in music.



Tuition/Policies
Great effort is put into finding a lesson time-slot that coordinates with the rigors of school, professional and family life.  The perfect time-slot can be held for several years, creating a peaceful rhythm in daily activity.

Facility Requirements

Lessons require ample power,  comfortable temperature conditions, music stand. adequate lighting,  and proper seating accommodations.

Pricelist for Lessons
 1/2 hour lesson rate $40
hourly rate $75 
90 minute rate (where available)$105
(surcharge for distances in excess of 25 miles from Frederick, MD)




Payment Payment on first lesson of the month.
Lessons are charged each month for a full month. 
No make-ups are offered for missed lessons.
No exceptions, discounts or makeups for missed lessons or weeks off in the month. 
See holidays below for Christmas and Summer Vacations. 
There will be a $5.00 charge for late payments and amount corrections.
 A 2-week notice to terminate lessons is required.


Please allow a ten-minute grace period before and after the time slot to compensate for possible travel inconsistencies.

Holidays, Vacations and Days 

Off Inclement Weather 

During snow or ice storms, on the day of the lesson I will contact my students if I must cancel due to travel difficulties, or for confirmation that the roads are clear in their neighborhood.  In these cases, no charge for the missed day.  The prepaid tuition is automatically applied to the following month.   If there is no call, expect the lesson to commence as planned.  
I seldom miss a scheduled lesson.
